Komen Events
There are three types of Komen Coastal Georgia events — Affiliate, National and Community Fundraisers:
• Affiliate Events include the Susan G. Komen Savannah Race for the Cure® and are produced by Komen Coastal Georgia staff, highly dedicated committees and volunteers.
• National Events are initiated through Komen Headquarters in Dallas. Komen Coastal Georgia works closely with Headquarters , providing staff and volunteers to help carry out national events, such as BMW Ultimate Drive® , Coldwater Creek Try It On for the Cure®, , Yoplait Save Lids to Save Lives® and Rally for the Cure® in the Coastal Georgia area.
• Community Fundraiser Events are initiated and organized by individual and group supporters in the Coastal Georgia area. They range from large, organized events like concerts to small personal fundraising gatherings like a birthday party to cause-related marketing partnerships where a portion of the proceeds are donated directly to Komen Coastal Georgia.
Are you interested in raising funds for Komen Coastal Georgia to help fulfill our mission of a world without breast cancer? Becoming a Community Fundraiser is as easy as 1, 2, 3…
1. Read and print out our Community Fundraising Guidelines.
2. Complete and send in the Community Fundraiser / Event Application to fundraising@komencoastalgeorgia.org .
3. Allow three weeks for a reply from the Komen Office. If your event is approved, you will have to sign a letter of agreement with Komen Coastal Georgia.
Event taking place in less than a month?
Consider using the pink ribbon symbol rather than the Komen name. The pink ribbon is the universal symbol for breast cancer awareness and may be used without permission. If you wish to use the pink ribbon in conjunction with a general statement such as, “Funds will be used to support local breast cancer programs,” no further paperwork or approval is necessary and these donations can be mailed directly to Komen Coastal Georgia. However, if you wish to use the Komen name or logo, you must complete the Third Party Fundraising / Event Application and receive approval.
